Join the City of Citrus Heights for an Earth Day Volunteer event! Volunteers will assist in revitalizing the Citrus Heights Community Center. Take a look at the tasks and how they help our Earth:
- Spreading 30 yards of bark around the Community Center perimeter
- Adds compost to the soil which improves plant growth and health
- The addition of bark helps the soil retain water, meaning less watering!
- Bonus: helps improve the aesthetics of the community-facing outdoor spaces
- Planting Crepe Myrtle trees
- Replaces old trees that are damaged
- The news tree require less water
- Filling sandbags at City Hall
- Sandbags help protect property from water during storms or flooding
- Pre-preparing sandbags allows all residents to stay protected during storms
Volunteers will be fed a pizza lunch in thanks for chipping-in!
