Who We Are
A volunteer arm of Metro Fire.
What We Do
Metro Fire CERT has two main objectives:
1. Provide education on health, safety and disaster preparedness to the general community. Classes include the full, FEMA CERT Basic class, STOP THE BLEED® and Until Help Arrives.
2. Support Metro Fire personnel in the field.
Metro Fire CERT members have become a valuable affiliated volunteer arm of Metro Fire and have served in numerous capacities. Those volunteers who remain in the program may receive additional training in order to support Metro Fire by:
- providing standby first aid at community events
- serving as Outreach liaisons at community events
- deploying for high wind events or red flag warnings
- supporting front line personnel during large scale incidents within the District
