Volunteer: Ballot Collection at Sylvan Oaks Library

Do you want to help collect election day ballots in the library's parking lot for drive-through voters? We'll provide chairs, snacks, and water, as well as a canopy and safety vests for high visibility.   We are looking for volunteers to sign up for 4 different shifts between 7 AM and 8 PM on Tuesday, June 2nd. Join us on Tuesday, April 28 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Event Center for a casual, drop-in opportunity to explore what it’s like to be part of the Event Center team. You’ll have a chance to meet staff, tour the facility and get a behind-the-scenes look at how the center operates. Whether you're looking to give back, build new skills or connect with your community, this is a great way to see if volunteering at the Event Center is right for you. No formal commitment required—just come by, ask questions and discover how you can get involved!

This event is to learn about volunteering at the Event Center and does not guarantee a volunteer position.

About Volunteering at the Event Center

What You’ll Do:

As a volunteer, you’ll assist with a variety of entry-level office and customer service tasks, including: Using computers for basic administrative tasks Answering phones and directing inquiries Scheduling appointments and managing calendars Providing tours of the facility Assisting with rental event quotes and information Performing general administrative duties Scanning documents and maintaining digital records Filing and organizing paperwork  

What We’re Looking For:

Basic office and computer skills Friendly, professional communication skills A positive attitude and willingness to learn Strong sense of community spirit Someone who takes pride in being an ambassador for the city  

Availability Requirements:

Minimum of 4 hours per week Availability sometime Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM

Join City of Citrus Heights staff by chipping-in at Citrus Heights City Hall!

The group will meet at the Citrus Heights City Hall and work to revitalize bark and flowers in planter areas. City staff will provide rakes, wheelbarrows and additional tools needed. Please wear appropriate shoes and bring gloves.

Water and pizza lunch will be provided!

Pick up your free Chip-In Starter Kit with useful tools to help your chip-in efforts at City Hall. The kit includes items that will help you keep our trails beautiful like: trash grabber, gloves, trash bags, pet waste bags and more! Citrus Heights City Hall is located at 6360 Fountain Square Drive and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ways to help:

Pick up trash and litter along the trail

Report vegetation, fallen limbs or light outages on the trail via SeeClickFix

Use doggie bags to clean up after your pet

Practice good trail etiquette by sharing the trail with everyone; walkers, strollers, bikes, runners, etc.
